Structured Portfolio Management (SPM), a leading asset-management firm focusing on fixed income since 1998, today announced the promotion of Chris Sutter to Head of Marketing and Investor Relations. In his new role, Mr. Sutter will lead SPM’s worldwide marketing efforts, with all members of the Client Management Group reporting to him.
Mr. Sutter joined SPM in April, 2008 and will also retain his title of Managing Director. He had previously been responsible for client management of institutional clients in the United States .
The promotion illustrates an effort by SPM to increase the firm’s capabilities to effectively reach, and communicate with investors around the world. At a time when branding is crucial to stand out from the competition, Mr. Sutter will define the marketing of SPM’s unique investment style.
Senior members of the Client Management Group reporting to Mr. Sutter include; Alex de Calice (Managing Director of the EMEA region– Europe, the Middle East, and Africa), Masahiro Watanabe (Managing Director of Japan and the East Asian countries), and Brooke Wise (SVP Investor Relations & Marketing).

Prior to joining SPM, Mr. Sutter was a Vice-President at Atlantic Asset Management where he was responsible for hedge fund marketing to institutional clients globally. Before joining Atlantic , Mr. Sutter was the Director of Marketing and Investor Relations at Seagate Global Advisors. Seagate is a global fixed income hedge fund based in Los Angeles .
Previously, Mr. Sutter was the Director of Marketing and Investor Relations at Big Sky Capital. Big Sky Capital was a global macro hedge fund based in Los Angeles . During his tenure at Big Sky Capital he also acted as an advisor to Alternative Asset Investment Management in New York City .
Mr. Sutter holds a B.A. in Political Science from The University of Washington in Seattle , WA .
