With interest spiking in the UCITS hedge fund arena and a number of new funds being planned and launched, Tomlinson Investment Consulting is teaming up with The Hedge Fund Journal to launch UCITS Hedge, a new portal dedicated to UCITS-compliant hedge funds. The portal will carry news, commentary, interviews, fund data and other information, the launch date is set for around 1 March 2010.
“I believe strongly that this is a response to secular change in investor requirements and an increased preference for liquid, transparent and well governed investments,” Richard Tomlinson, managing director of Tomlinson Investment Consulting, said, “However, many of the current data sets available are generally fragmented and not wholly suitable for categorising this new type of fund, are they hedge funds or mutual funds or somewhere in between?”
“Many industry participants wish to understand this rapidly growing fund area, including:
· Investors to see their available investment universe
· Fund managers to track their performance and competition
· Service suppliers to understand the market for their services”
“The UCITS Hedge-Tomlinson Indices and underlying fund database will be a significant part of this new offering.” Tomlinson concluded.
