Baron Advisors LLC announced that it has sold a minority stake in its private alternative asset management affiliate Landmark Investors LLC to Arrow Partners, the family office of Barry Diller andthe von Furstenberg family. Landmark Investors is the sponsor of a number of private specialized funds of hedge funds dedicated to value investing and shareholder activism and does not otherwisecurrently offer investment management services to the public.

Landmark specializes in value-oriented investing. Landmark deploys capital with managers that have a bottoms-up, fundamental methodology and a focus on cash attributes, applying a “private equity approach to the public markets.”
The firm’s partners are Ahmed Fattouh, John Salib and Sebastian Stubbe. Because the principals come from M&A and private equity backgrounds, they possess the ability to assess the underlying portfolios, interacting with fund managers to analyze the thesis, drivers, and risk factors at the position level, rather than simply at the fund level.
