THE Technopreneurs Association of Malaysia (TeAM) and Malaysia Venture Capital Management Bhd (Mavcap) recently launched an education programme called “Excite The Entrepreneur (E2)”.
E2 was launched at the Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology in Technology Park Malaysia.
It was to provide awareness of entrepreneurship among local university and college students to encourage them to pursue an alternative career in entrepreneurship or technoship.
For a period of one year, E2 hopes to address at least 1,200 students with an average of 60 participants in each college and university in the Klang Valley where the programme is presented..
E2 is divided into four sections – entrepreneurship, business planning and venturing, venture finding and entrepreneurial career. A small group of technopreneurs was selected as a facilitator for the E2 programme.
According to Mavcap’s chief executive officer Mohd Azhar Mahmud, it has announced a RM100 million cradle investment programme to provide funding support and investment in technology-related ventures. The Ministry of Finance has allocated RM500 million for Mavcap to nurture the technology sector and to invest in the growing capital market here.
