U.S. prime brokers develop credit derivatives fix

NEW YORK, Sept 22 (Reuters) – Major Wall Street banks have come up with what they and some hedge fund managers say is a potential solution to a backlog in credit derivatives paperwork that has vexed the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

The solution amounts to hedge funds outsourcing many of their trade processing obligations to investment banks’ prime brokerage units, for a fee.
