New York (HedgeCo.Net) – EQA Partners, an alternative investment manager whose expertise lies in currencies and traditional global macro strategies, today announced the appointment of Dr. Randall Kroszner as Partner and Chief Economist, a new position.
Dr. Krozner’s distinguished career includes representing the Fed on the Financial Stability Forum (now the Financial Stability Board), the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, and the Central Bank Governors of the American Continent and chaired the working party of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Dr. Kroszner has also served as a member of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers (CEA) where he was involved in wide range of domestic and international economic issues.
He will continue to serve as the Norman R. Bobins Professor of Economics at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where he has been teaching since 1990.
“I have long respected EQA’s successful navigation of the financial crisis and am thrilled to be joining this proven investment team,” said Dr. Kroszner. “I believe well-constructed currency strategies can enhance traditional portfolios by improving diversification, risk management and liquidity. EQA’s disciplined approach to risk management utilizing highly liquid strategies and their record of delivering positive returns, uncorrelated to traditional and alternative investment vehicles, differentiates them from their peers. I look forward to collaborating with EQA to educate investors about these strategies.”
EQA was founded in 2006. The firm, headed by Andrew Alper and Richard Breslow, provides scalable currency and global macro investment strategies with low correlation to traditional and alternative investments through all market cycles.
