WSJ – Juniper Networks Inc. is in talks with activist investor Elliott Management Corp. about adding new directors to its board, a move that could enable the technology company to avoid a proxy fight.
Elliott, which owns a roughly 9% stake in Juniper, has privately recommended to the Sunnyvale, Calif., company a number of new director candidates, which the company is in the early stages of examining, according to people familiar with the matter. It is too early to say who and how many may be added, the people said.
