NYT – The private equity unit of Neuberger Berman Group has bought a stake in the activist hedge fund Jana Partners, underscoring the growing popularity of investors who rattle the boards of corporate America.
The Neuberger Berman unit, Dyal Capital Partners, agreed on Wednesday to buy a 20 percent stake in Jana Partners, according a letter sent to investors. The stake will be passive, which means that Dyal will not have a say in Jana Partners’ day-to-day operations.
