WhiteHat Security Names Jess Marzak Chief Operating Officer

SANTA CLARA, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Aug. 5, 2003–WhiteHat Security(TM), the expert in delivering web application security software services, today announced the appointment of Jess Marzak as thecompany’s new chief operating officer. Mr. Marzak will oversee the company’s long-range planning and strategy in addition to managing day-to-day business practices and partner and resellerrelationships.

Mr. Marzak officially joined WhiteHat Security in the second calendar quarter of 2003. Prior to joining WhiteHat, Mr. Marzak had a 24-year career as a venture capitalist, investing in and advising companies in the information technology industries. Most recently, Mr. Marzak was a managing director and venture partner with BA Venture Partners where he was responsible for the management and investment strategy of the Information Technology Group. Mr. Marzak was also a general partner with Paragon Partners and a vice president with Citicorp Venture Capital.

This is the first of several announcements regarding the company’s growth plans. WhiteHat hopes to increase its headcount by 30% by the end of the fiscal year and will soon announce its newest resellers. The company also recently announced its new enterprise web application software scanner, which is supported, maintained and monitored by web security experts. The new offering, WhiteHat Sentinel Service, provides around-the-clock vulnerability scanning of all web applications, enabling organizations to reduce costs while increasing the security of their critical web applications.
