{"id":12975,"date":"2009-11-13T07:12:52","date_gmt":"2009-11-13T11:12:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hedgeco.net\/news\/?p=12975"},"modified":"2009-11-13T07:12:52","modified_gmt":"2009-11-13T11:12:52","slug":"john-horseman-to-step-down-from-hedge-fund-management-after-losses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hedgeco.net\/news\/11\/2009\/john-horseman-to-step-down-from-hedge-fund-management-after-losses.html","title":{"rendered":"John Horseman to Step Down From Hedge Fund Management After Losses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New York (HedgeCo.net) &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/apps\/news?pid=20601103&amp;sid=aipASfzJH99o\">Bloomberg reported<\/a> this morning that hedge fund manager John Horseman is stepping down from his position as manager of the $2.8 billion fund, Horseman Global Fund Ltd.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere will be those who might think that a poor year is unduly influencing my decision, and it is probably true that if the fund had had a better year, I might have been tempted to continue,\u201d Horseman wrote in a letter to investors, obtained by Bloomberg. \u201cBut with a time frame of three to four years at most, I feel now is the time to make way for others.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The hedge fund fell in value by almost a quarter this year. Russell Clark and John-Paul Burke are teaming up to take his place.
