{"id":15559,"date":"2010-05-06T08:01:47","date_gmt":"2010-05-06T12:01:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hedgeco.net\/news\/?p=15559"},"modified":"2010-05-06T08:01:47","modified_gmt":"2010-05-06T12:01:47","slug":"eu-close-to-hedge-fund-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hedgeco.net\/news\/05\/2010\/eu-close-to-hedge-fund-deal.html","title":{"rendered":"EU Close to Hedge-Fund Deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WSJ &#8211; European Union lawmakers are nearing an agreement on hedge-fund  legislation that would significantly restrict the ability of funds based  in some offshore tax havens to raise money from EU investors, the  lawmaker in charge of the legislation at the European Parliament said  Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The proposal would require European authorities to create a &#8220;black  list&#8221; of countries, with European investors being prohibited from  sending their money to funds based in those countries.
