Scalix Corporation today announced the close of a $13.2 million Series A financing round led by New Enterprise Associates with follow-on investment from Mayfield, where the company was incubated.<\/p>\n
Scalix, led by CEO, founder and industry veteran Julie Hanna Farris, has developed the industry’s most powerful enterprise messaging platform for Linux, offering reliability, scalability and performance improvements at less than half of the total cost of ownership (TCO) when compared to today’s enterprise messaging solutions. Farris made the announcement today while speaking with investors, analysts and media at the Technologic Partners’ Enterprise Outlook Conference.<\/p>\n
Compelling economics, performance, reliability, openness and flexibility make Linux an inherently superior platform for enterprise messaging, an application which has become mission-critical in corporations. According to industry research firm The Radicati Group, the messaging software market will grow from $2.3 billion in 2002 to $4.4 billion by 2006.<\/p>\n

In addition to Farris, the board of directors of Scalix includes Stewart Alsop of New Enterprise Associates, and Yogen Dalal and Allen Morgan of Mayfield.<\/p>\n
