{"id":290,"date":"2003-06-19T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2003-06-19T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T04:00:00","slug":"investment-for-technology-firm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hedgeco.net\/news\/06\/2003\/investment-for-technology-firm.html","title":{"rendered":"Investment for technology firm"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BELFAST-BASED Amphion has secured $5million of investment, it was revealed yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>  The Republic&#8217;s ACT Venture Capital led the funding round, which included funding from existing investors Apax Partners&#8217; Funds and Enterprise Equity, and further investment from Invest NI.<\/p>\n<p>  Amphion, which designs the silicon chips which power the most up- to-date technology in a range of products, said the funding would enable it to expand sales and support innovation.<\/p>\n<p>  &#8220;We are delighted to have investors of this calibre help us build the company,&#8221; said Dr. JG Doherty, ceo of Amphion.<\/p>\n<p>  &#8220;Moving forward, our focus is on delivering the high value solutions from our strategic roadmap that customers have identified as essential to their own future success.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>  Invest NI chairman Prof Fabian Monds added: &#8220;Amphion, one of Northern Ireland&#8217;s most important advanced technology-led businesses, is an excellent example of how our business support principles can  be applied in conjunction with funding from venture capitalists.
