The fund of funds leader award was given to Gottex Fund Management; its multi-faceted growth strategy enabled the firm to become a serious contender for institutional investor assets. This year Alternative Investment News announced that, \u00c3\u00af\u00c2\u00bf\u00c2\u00bdJohn Henry of John W. Henry & Company has been given a Lifetime Achievement Award.\u00c3\u00af\u00c2\u00bf\u00c2\u00bd Henry owns the majority stake of the Boston Red Sox and was cited for his founding of JWH in 1981.<\/p>\n
Citigroup Alternative Investments was also honored as Institutional Manager of the Year, while Eton Park Capital Management was cited as Emerging Manager of the Year. Stitching Pensioenfonds ABP was recognized as Institutional Investor of the Year. The winners were announced at a gala at the Capitale in New York City. The editorial staffs of Alternative Investment News choose the nominees and winners of all the categories.<\/p>\n
