Her appointment brings the total number of the firm\u2019s fund directors to twenty.<\/p>\n<p>Julie joins Carne from hedge fund law firm Ogier in the Cayman Islands, where she was a Managing Associate in the Business and Trust law group, specializing in hedge funds, private equity funds, Shariah-compliant funds and real estate funds. She has extensive experience in corporate and commercial law, offshore investment funds, fund listings and fund restructuring.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe increasingly institutional nature of the hedge funds industry means that independent fund directors and fund boards must measure up to much higher standards of governance. I and my colleagues at Carne will be working to assist the industry in meeting those standards.\u201d Julie O\u2019Hara commented.<\/p>\n<p>Julie is a member of the Cayman Islands Bar Association and the Cayman Islands Law Society.
