leading provider of hedge fund and asset management products and services
worldwide, today announced its hiring and appointment of John Matwey as
Director of Risk Management and Portfolio Services. In addition to directing
the firm’s risk management and portfolio services area, Mr. Matwey will be
responsible for managing several long term initiatives for the firm’s
Investment Management group, including enhanced development and implementation of Tremont’s risk analytics platforms.<\/p>\n
Immediately prior to joining Tremont, Mr. Matwey had been a Director in
the Alternative Business Division of RiskMetrics Group, Inc., where he was
responsible for setting strategic direction and heading up that division’s
commercial product management, new business initiatives and project management
efforts. While at RiskMetrics, he also designed and launched HedgePlatform, a
widely acknowledged industry standard in risk reporting services. Under his
management, he increased the number of funds on the platform from 20 to 225 in
two years — representing no less than $150 billion in assets and 1\/3 of the
top 100 hedge funds.<\/p>\n
