Arrowpoint said it will pay for Aster out of available capital. The deal will bring another $2.9 billion of mutual fund assets into Arrowpoint&#8217;s portfolio.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn terms of culture and research and process, this is a very complementary acquisition,\u201d David Corkins, co-founder of Denver-based Arrowpoint, said in an interview. \u201cWe expect the integration will be seamless.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Founded by\u00a0David Corkins\u00a0and\u00a0Karen Reidy, Arrowpoint has become a\u00a0home for former Janus employees.\u00a0Brian Schaub\u00a0and\u00a0Chad Meade, who left Janus for Arrowpoint last month, will manage Aster&#8217;s $2.1 billion Meridian Growth Fund.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New York \u00a0(HedgeCo.Net) &#8211; Arrowpoint Partners, the Denver-based investment firm founded by former hedge fund managers at\u00a0Janus Capital Group Inc announced plans to acquire Aster Investment Management Co., of Larkspur, Calif., according to a Bloomberg report.
