Mueller III, the Washington Post reveals.<\/p>\n<p>Comey was the\u00a0United States Deputy Attorney General, serving in President\u00a0George W. Bush&#8217;s administration. As Deputy Attorney General, Comey was the second-highest ranking official in the\u00a0United States Department of Justice\u00a0(DOJ) and ran the day-to-day operations of the Department, serving in that office from December 2003 through August 2005. He was\u00a0U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York\u00a0prior to becoming Deputy Attorney General.<\/p>\n<p>In 2010, he became General Counsel at\u00a0Bridgewater Associates.\u00a0In early 2013, he left the hedge fund\u00a0to become Senior Research Scholar and\u00a0Hertog\u00a0Fellow on National Security Law at\u00a0Columbia Law School.
