\"Philanthropy<\/a>New York (HedgeCo.Net) – Cantor Fitzgerald & Co., together with its affiliate BGC Partners, Inc., raised approximately\u00a0$12 million at the companies’ annual commemorative Charity Day\u00a0on\u00a0Wednesday, September 11,\u00a0<\/sup>2013. The company\u00a0lost 658 employees during the World Trade Center attacks.<\/p>\n

Some of the guests that participated include actors\u00a0Julianne Moore,\u00a0Billy Crystal,\u00a0Bridget Moynahan, Whoopi Goldberg and\u00a0Jamie Foxx, Raymond Felton\u00a0and coach\u00a0Mike Woodson\u00a0of the NY Knicks, former Mayor of New York Rudy Giuliani, magician\u00a0David Blaine,\u00a0Today Show\u00a0<\/i>co-hosts\u00a0Kathie Lee Gifford\u00a0and\u00a0Hoda Kotb, Fox Television anchors Rosanna Scotto\u00a0and\u00a0Greg Kelly, track and field Olympian Bruce Jenner, sex therapist Dr.\u00a0Ruth Westheimer, tennis legend\u00a0Billie Jean King\u00a0and many others.<\/p>\n

“We feel privileged to assist so many charities around the world, in addition to supporting victims of Hurricane Sandy and the\u00a0Oklahoma\u00a0tornado.\u00a0 I’d like to thank everyone who supports\u00a0Charity Day\u00a0for their enthusiasm and generosity of spirit.”\u00a0Howard W. Lutnick, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cantor Fitzgerald, L.P., said.<\/p>\n

The Relief Fund has raised and distributed\u00a0$180 million\u00a0to over 800 families and 932 children of the victims of that tragedy. The Relief Fund’s expanded scope has included such natural disasters as the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina, the tsunami of 2004, the earthquake in\u00a0Haiti\u00a0and the recent events in\u00a0Japan as well as the wounded members of our military. In addition, the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund supports a wide variety of other charitable organizations providing assistance to those in need.<\/p>\n

Cantor Fitzgerald Chairman and CEO\u00a0Howard Lutnick\u00a0and the partners of Cantor Fitzgerald underwrite all the expenses of the fund so that 100% of every dollar raised goes directly to those in need. The Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund, administered by its Co-Founder and Executive Director,\u00a0Edie Lutnick\u00a0has raised and distributed over\u00a0$250 million.<\/p>\n
