{"id":4167,"date":"2006-03-23T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2006-03-23T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T04:00:00","slug":"irish-regulator-pulls-plug-on-hedge-fund","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hedgeco.net\/news\/03\/2006\/irish-regulator-pulls-plug-on-hedge-fund.html","title":{"rendered":"Irish regulator pulls plug on hedge fund"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>  <span class=\"ArticleBodyText\">The Irish financial watchdog has ordered Dublin-domiciled hedge fund group Broadstone Fund Management to cease due to \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cserious regulatory issues\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d.<br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>  <span class=\"ArticleBodyText\">A spokesman for the Irish Financial Services Regulatory Authority told IPE it ordered the group \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 which operates three hedge funds on the Irish Stock Exchange &#8211; \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cto  cease providing investment business and investment advice\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d on Monday.<br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>  <span class=\"ArticleBodyText\">He declined to be more specific but said the action was not related to the \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cintegrity of client assets\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d.<br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>  <span class=\"ArticleBodyText\">The watchdog yesterday approved the acquisition of another fund group owned by Broadstone, Harvest Global Asset Management, by the management.
