Macquarie Portfolio Management has expanded its range of hedge fund investment options, giving retail investors access to a global group of absolute return hedge fund managers.<\/p>\n
Macquarie Equity Markets Group division director Cathy Kovacs said the Macquarie Equinox Select Opportunities Trust offered Australian investors different investment styles across threecategories.<\/p>\n
\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cSpecialist Funds provides exposure to strategies focusing on Asia and emerging markets.<\/p>\n
\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cOpportunistic Traders provides exposure to strategies focusing on trends in global financial markets, and a Diversified Fund provides investors with exposure to a broader range of hedge fund-stylestrategies in more developed markets,\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d she said.<\/p>\n
All offshore investments will be hedged to Australian dollars to minimise exposure to foreign currency movements.<\/p>\n
The manager has also launched the second series of the Macquarie Newton Multi-Strategy Fund \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 Capital Protected. This is an absolute return and specialist equities strategy fund, but offers capitalprotection to retail investors by ensuring their initial capital outlay is protected at the date of June 3, 2013.<\/p>\n
The first series of this fund closed with $70 million in funds under management.<\/p>\n
