{"id":43598,"date":"2014-08-19T08:09:55","date_gmt":"2014-08-19T12:09:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hedgeco.net\/news\/?p=43598"},"modified":"2014-08-19T08:50:25","modified_gmt":"2014-08-19T12:50:25","slug":"hedge-fund-assets-up-by-62-6-billion-in-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hedgeco.net\/news\/08\/2014\/hedge-fund-assets-up-by-62-6-billion-in-2014.html","title":{"rendered":"Hedge Fund Assets Up By $62.6 Billion In 2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hedgeco.net\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/market-research.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-40730\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hedgeco.net\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/market-research.jpg\" alt=\"market-research\" width=\"362\" height=\"242\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hedgeco.net\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/market-research.jpg 600w, https:\/\/hedgeco.net\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/market-research-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 362px) 100vw, 362px\" \/><\/a>New York (HedgeCo.Net) &#8211;\u00a0US\u00a0hedge fund AUM went past the $1.4 trillion mark, with assets growing by $62.6 billion in 2014, new data from\u00a0independent data provider and research house <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eurekahedge.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Eurekahedge<\/a> shows.<\/p>\n<p>Long\/short equity, fixed income and multi-strategy funds retained the top three slots in terms of investor allocations attracting with $55.5 billion, $15.6 billion and $10.1 billion respectively of net asset flows July 2014 year-to-date.<\/p>\n<p>Other highlights include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>European hedge funds attracted $33.4 billion in net asset flows as at July 2014 year-to-date, up from $29.4 billion over the same period last year.<\/li>\n<li>Asia ex-Japan hedge funds outperformed all other regional mandates and are up 6.50% year-to-date and have seen their AUM grow by US$6.5 billion so far this year.<\/li>\n<li>Greater China investing hedge funds bounced back to report their third consecutive month of positive returns \u2013 up 4.13% in July and 2.90% year-to-date.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Activist hedge fund&#8217;s AUM grew by over $30 billion since the start of 2013.
