{"id":4663,"date":"2006-06-29T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2006-06-29T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T04:00:00","slug":"pragmatic-approach-hedge-fund-regulation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hedgeco.net\/news\/06\/2006\/pragmatic-approach-hedge-fund-regulation.html","title":{"rendered":"Pragmatic Approach for Hedge Fund Regulation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\">  WEST PALM BEACH, FL (HEDGECO.NET) &#8211; <span>In the Report, FSA Chief Executive John Tiner said, \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cWe have been careful to be proportionate in our regulation of hedge fund managers, bearing in mind the  highly mobile nature of the business and their ability to trade into the UK from overseas\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d.&nbsp; He also notes the FSA\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s increased focus on particular aspects such as market conduct, the  determination of market values for certain financial instruments and the use of side letters.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">  <span>AIMA welcomes the way that the FSA has recognised the global nature of the hedge fund industry and how it has worked and continues to do so with AIMA and industry practitioners to increase  its access to information and understanding.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">  <span>Commenting on the FSA\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s Report, Florence Lombard, Executive Director of AIMA said, \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cThe FSA is one of the leading global regulators and has always taken a pragmatic approach to hedge fund  regulation. It offers a good example of how regulators have worked with the industry.
