\"images<\/a>New York (HedgeCo.Net) – The 14th Annual San Francisco \u201cOpen Your Heart to the Children<\/a>\u201d Benefit organized by Hedge Funds Care and the San Francisco 49ers Foundation will be held Thursday, April 9th at 4:30 p.m. PDT at the Metreon\u2019s CityView in San Francisco (135 4th St, Forth Floor, San Francisco, California 94103). As in past years, the goal of the event is to raise money for grants that will support programs in the San Francisco Bay Area focused on the treatment and prevention of child abuse.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

While the event features a large charity networking opportunity for the investment management industry in San Francisco, it is centrally a way for the Bay Area community to join together with the 49ers players, alumni, coaches, executives and cheerleaders to fight child abuse. The event also features a large wine-tasting program (with participation from more than nineteen local wineries) in addition to cocktails, dinner, and dessert. In addition to admission sales, money for charities will be raised through a silent auction, raffle, and other donation based activities.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the last fourteen years, the San Francisco chapter of Hedge Funds Care has worked closely with the 49ers to put on an event that directly and positively impacts the lives of children in the Bay Area,\u201d said event co-chair Saskia Mallach, CAO of Route One Investment Company.\u00a0 \u201cHaving a partner like the 49ers to help raise awareness, money and support for the grantee organizations has been invaluable.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201dIt is always an honor to be affiliated with the \u2018Open Your Heart to the Children\u2019 benefit.\u00a0 In alignment with the 49ers Foundation\u2019s mission to keep kids \u2018Safe, On Track, and In School,\u2019 this event not only creates the opportunity for a tremendous investment in organizations seeking to eradicate child abuse and neglect in our community but also raises visibility for the prevalence of this issue in our community,\u201d said Joanne Pasternack, Executive Director of the San Francisco 49ers Foundation.<\/p>\n

Last year\u2019s event raised over $630,000 through contributions from more than 150 companies and individuals \u2013 enough to award 16 grants to local organizations in 2014. Event co-chair Ghufran Rizvi, COO of Standard Pacific Capital added, \u201cthe donation of time and money from everyone involved in this event shows the desire of our community to support and nurture the children and also to thank the organizations who fight for these children on a daily basis.\u201d More than 450 hedge fund managers, investors and investment management service providers are expected to attend.
