However, there are some funds and fund strategies that are bucking the trend.<\/p>\n<p>According to a recent report from HSBC, the average managed futures fund tracked by the firm is up 4.17% so far in 2016. Many managed futures funds employ a trend following system and use computer algorithms to make the investment decisions. With the trend for many asset classes being to the downside, the computer-driven models seem to be working the best.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a list of the funds with a return of 5% or more on the year:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Passport Special Opportunities Fund LTD Class AA (equity-diversified\/global): +16% in January<br \/>\n\u2022 Conquest Macro Fund LTD (managed futures): +15.97% through February 2<br \/>\n\u2022 Tulip Trend Fund, LTD -A (managed futures): +12.41% in January<br \/>\n\u2022 Roy G. Niederhoffer Diversified Offshore Fund (managed futures) +11.72% through February 3<br \/>\n\u2022 Cantab Capital Partners Quantitative Fund (managed futures) +8.41% through January<br \/>\n\u2022 Horseman Global Fund (equity-diversified\/global) +8.09% in January<br \/>\n\u2022 Bluetrend Fund LTD (managed futures): +7.48% in January<br \/>\n\u2022 Renaissance Institutional Diversified Alpha (multistrategy) +7.25% in January<br \/>\n\u2022 Odey European (equity-diversified\/Europe): +7.16% in January<br \/>\n\u2022 Renaissance Institutional Equities LP (equity-diversified\/USA) +6.89% in January<br \/>\n\u2022 GSA Trend Risk Premia Fund (managed futures) +6.71% in January<br \/>\n\u2022 AAM Absolute Return Fund (equity-diversified\/global): +6.66% through January<br \/>\n\u2022 Lynx Bermuda 1.5 LTD (managed futures) +6.07 through February 2<br \/>\n\u2022 Millburn Commodity Program (commodity-systematic\/global) +5.95% in January<br \/>\n\u2022 ISAM Systematic Trend Fund Class Q (managed futures) +5.71% through January 29.
