After all, both have suffered a bruising 12-month stretch in which their futures came into serious question and many investors remain skeptical about a comeback.<\/p>\n<p>Ackman\u2019s troubles stem from a $4 billion bet on Valeant Pharmaceuticals VRX +2.47%, which backfired amid an accounting and price gouging scandal that caused the company\u2019s stock to drop over 80% between September 2015 and January 2016.
