Hartford – Senate Republicans yesterday said they do not believe their Democratic colleague, Norwalk’s Bob Duff, will muster enough bipartisan support to regulate hedge funds this session.<\/p>\n

“I can’t imagine this bill’s going to pass,” said Senate Minority Leader Pro Tempore John McKinney, R-Fairfield.<\/p>\n

Duff’s legislation, voted out of the Banks Committee on Tuesday night to the Senate, would require funds to make new disclosures, including conflicts of interest among hedge fund managers andtheir clients. Duff, a committee co-chairman, shepherded the legislation with help from the attorney general’s office<\/p>\n
