{"id":5781,"date":"2007-03-09T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2007-03-09T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T04:00:00","slug":"us-house-panel-sets-hearings-on-hedge-funds-reuters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hedgeco.net\/news\/03\/2007\/us-house-panel-sets-hearings-on-hedge-funds-reuters.html","title":{"rendered":"US House panel sets hearings on hedge funds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>  WASHINGTON, March 8 (Reuters) &#8211; A U.S. congressional panel said it will hold a series of hearings on hedge funds and private equity pools beginning on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>  The House of Representatives Financial Services Committee said the hearings will focus on whether investors know enough about their investments, on mortgage markets, on systemic risk, on the  sufficiency of hedge fund oversight and other issues.<\/p>\n<p>  On Wednesday, legislation to require hedge funds to register with the Securities and Exchange Commission was introduced by Iowa Republican Sen.
