{"id":6644,"date":"2007-10-08T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2007-10-08T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T04:00:00","slug":"halbis-launches-macro-fund","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hedgeco.net\/news\/10\/2007\/halbis-launches-macro-fund.html","title":{"rendered":"Halbis launches macro fund"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"feedflare\">  Reuters- HSBC Halbis Partners, the active fund management arm of HSBC Investments, has launched a global macro hedge fund and says distressed debt strategies will also offer opportunities for  investors.  <\/p>\n<p>    Bill Maldonado, head of alternative investments at Halbis, told Reuters in an interview the firm launched the Halbis Global Macro fund, Halbis&#8217;s first such strategy, in June.  <\/p>\n<p>    Global macro funds bet on the likes of global equity markets, world currencies, sovereign debt and commodities.  <\/p>\n<p>    The fund uses a computer-driven model, run by a Paris-based team headed by Guillaume Rabault, to provide ideas for a portfolio management team which takes final decisions on the fund and which is    headed by Jim Dunsford in London.
