New York<\/span><\/strong>,<\/span><\/strong> NY<\/span><\/strong> \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153<\/span> November 7, 2007<\/span> \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 100 Women in Hedge Funds\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2 Board of Directors has named iMentor the beneficiary of its 6th<\/sup> Annual Gala to be held on<\/span> November 14, 2007<\/span>, at<\/span> Cipriani 42nd<\/sup> Street<\/span> in<\/span> New York City<\/span>. iMentor, founded in 1999 by John Griffin of Blue Ridge Capital, serves to cultivate relationships between young people and volunteer adult mentors through its innovative and technology-enriched mentoring model, combining e-mail correspondence with in-person meetings.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

100 Women in Hedge Funds will also present two of the most prestigious awards in the hedge fund industry at the 2007 Gala.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 2007 Effecting Change<\/strong> Award<\/strong> will<\/span> collectively<\/span> honor<\/span> top<\/span> leaders across the hedge fund industry who serve as powerful examples of effective mentoring. <\/span> Among the many leaders that will be attending to celebrate the award include John Griffin and his mentor, Julian Robertson, founder of Tiger Management Corp. Robertson, an active philanthropist who serves on a number of organization and university boards is the founder and benefactor of the Robertson Scholars Program which awards merit scholarships providing 4-year, full tuition for 36 Duke University and University of North Carolina students each year. <\/span><\/p>\n

Also taking part in celebrating the<\/span> 2007 Effecting Change<\/span><\/strong> Award<\/strong><\/span> will be David \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cTiger\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d Williams, founder of Williams Trading, who has invited a special guest who has served as an inspiration, contributing to the growth and success of William\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s exceptional achievements. Many other key figures across the hedge fund industry have invited their mentors to attend the gala with them to celebrate the award.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 2007 Industry Leadership Award<\/strong>, presented by the Board of Directors for 100 Women in Hedge Funds, will be awarded to Jane Mendillo, Chief Investment Officer,<\/span> Wellesley<\/span> College<\/span> in recognition of her talent, ethics and passion which help define the hedge fund industry\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s standard of excellence. Ms. Mendillo has overseen the management of the $1.5 billion endowment of<\/span> Wellesley<\/span> College<\/span> since 2002. Prior to becoming<\/span> Wellesley<\/span>\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s CIO, Ms. Mendillo was a portfolio manager at Harvard Management Company where she was responsible for approximately $7 billion in assets. She joined Harvard Management Company in 1987 and during her 14-year tenure managed equities, private equity, real estate and hedge fund investments.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

Ms. Mendillo\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s predecessor and mentor, Jack Meyer, Managing Partner and CEO, Convexity Capital and former head of Harvard Management, commented on the Industry Leadership Award saying, \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cJane has a fierce intellect, a steely resolve, and incredibly high standards for herself and those around her. She has been quick to master and excel in every position she\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s held.  For Jane, there are no limits.”<\/span><\/p>\n

This year’s auction will be conducted by Guest Auctioneers Jamie Niven and Eliza B. Osbourne of Sotheby\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s and is full of great packages including an incredible golf trip to New Zealand, wine fantasy camp at the exclusive Napa Valley Reserve, tickets to the Golden Globe awards after party at Chateau Marmont in Hollywood, a day of fashion and beauty \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00cb\u0153behind the scenes\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2 at Teen Vogue, and private lunches with Nobel Laureates and powerful business women.<\/span><\/p>\n

Individuals or firms who purchase tables at the $50,000 and $100,000 levels will be encouraged to invite their mentors to the Gala. Those who buy $100,000 tables will be able to further celebrate their mentors through an acknowledgement in the program, as well as other special recognition that evening. Many well-known leaders in the hedge fund industry will be attending the gala celebration and a number of hedge funds have already purchased tables, including Tudor Investment Management, Williams Trading, Blue Ridge Capital, Highbridge Capital Management, Eton Park Capital Management, Moore Capital and Atticus Capital.<\/span><\/p>\n
