{"id":7585,"date":"2008-04-24T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2008-04-24T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T04:00:00","slug":"ambitious-targets-galvanise-fund-industry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hedgeco.net\/news\/04\/2008\/ambitious-targets-galvanise-fund-industry.html","title":{"rendered":"Ambitious targets galvanise fund industry"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"ds-firstpara\">Isle of Man Today- TARGETS set by the Smith report are now more ambitious than when they were set, but Fund Managers&#8217; Association chairman Anthony Long believes they are a &#8216;galvanising&#8217; force for the industry.<\/div>\n<div class=\"va-bodytext\">In March 2007 the Smith report set out the aim of achieving $50 billion in funds under management and $100 billion under administration by 2010.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the association&#8217;s annual dinner on April 11, Mr Long said: &#8216;Some might say these targets are overly ambitious in the current environment and maybe they will be proved right in the fullness of time.
