Economists expected retail sales to fall by 0.3% in July,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2021\/07\/16\/us-retail-sales-unexpectedly-rise-0point6percent-in-june-.html\">compared to a revised 0.7% gain in June,<\/a>\u00a0according to Dow Jones consensus forecast.
