{"id":8593,"date":"2008-09-12T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2008-09-12T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T04:00:00","slug":"fortis-winds-down-three-hedge-funds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hedgeco.net\/news\/09\/2008\/fortis-winds-down-three-hedge-funds.html","title":{"rendered":"Fortis winds down three hedge funds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"keywordsearch\">Fortis<\/span> has closed three small hedge funds in the aftermath of its acquisition of part of <span class=\"keywordsearch\">ABN Amro<\/span> and merger of the Belgian and Dutch banks&rsquo; asset management operations, according to a report in the <em>Financial Times<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The Fortis European long\/short fund, which had &euro;120m ($167m) under administration, was shut after the decision to rope in the ABN European equity team, led by <span class=\"keywordsearch\">Andrew King<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>The convertible arbitrage fund was shut in order to free up staff to focus on the enlarged long-only convertible bond funds.
