While <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/BTC.CB=\/\">bitcoin<\/a> rallied over 150% for the year, shares of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/COIN\/\">Coinbase<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/MSTR\/\">MicroStrategy<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/GBTC\/\">Grayscale Bitcoin Trust<\/a>, which are all tied closely to the digital currency, did substantially better, rising more than 300% in value. Bitcoin miner <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/MARA\/\">Marathon Digital<\/a> soared 688%.
