HedgeCo.Net \u2014 KKR announced on September 22, 2026 that funds it manages will commit $350 million through its Asset Based Finance strategy to support the launch of Akrapoint Commercial Capital, a Denver-based equipment-finance platform, according to Alternative Credit Investor, PE Hub, and Pulse2. Akrapoint plans to provide mid-ticket loans and leases for vocational assets, specialty trailers, and industrial machinery used by small and middle-market U.S. businesses across manufacturing, energy, sanitation, construction, transportation, and logistics.<\/p>\n
Nate Smith, formerly of Trans Lease, is chief executive; Gary Shivers chairs the board. KKR\u2019s ABF franchise, established in 2016, was cited at more than $91 billion of assets under management. Nomura Securities International advised and Kirkland & Ellis acted as legal counsel to KKR, per the Alternative Credit Investor account.<\/p>\n
For private-credit allocators, the hard marks are the $350 million ABF commitment, the captive platform launch structure, the mid-ticket equipment focus, and the named leadership.
