Spectrum designs and manufactures highly engineered radio-frequency and microwave components and subsystems for aerospace, defense, space, and other high-reliability industrial markets. The parties did not disclose financial terms.<\/p>\n<p>Bloomberg had previously reported talks that could value Spectrum at more than about $1.8 billion, as cited by Private Equity Wire and The Deal\u2019s deal diary; those figures were not confirmed in the definitive announcement. Closing is expected by the first quarter of 2027, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals. Until close, AEA remains the owner, Spectrum CEO Rich Sorelle wrote in a September 29 company note.<\/p>\n<p>Sorelle and the existing management team will continue to lead the Fairview, Pennsylvania\u2013based business. Greenbriar managing director Noah Blitzer and AEA partner Vinay Kumar were quoted on the continuity of Spectrum\u2019s designed-in positions on major defense and aerospace platforms. Evercore and William Blair advised Spectrum and AEA; Kirkland advised Greenbriar; Fried Frank advised Spectrum and AEA.<\/p>\n<p>For LPs and industrials desks tracking aerospace and defense sponsor-to-sponsor exits, the hard marks are the September 29 definitive agreement, the undisclosed purchase price alongside pre-announcement Bloomberg reporting around $1.8 billion, the Q1 2027 expected close, and management continuity under Greenbriar.
