HedgeCo.Net \u2014 Hedgeye Asset Management said Thursday it had launched the Hedgeye Hedged Bitcoin ETF, ticker HBIT on the NYSE, an actively managed product that seeks bitcoin-linked exposure while using an options overlay to reduce volatility and manage downside risk. The PR Newswire release is the primary. StockTitan independently carried the same Thursday launch. An August 24 Form 8-A filing with the SEC registered the series on NYSE Arca ahead of the open.<\/p>\n

HBIT invests primarily in U.S.-listed spot bitcoin exchange-traded products, including BlackRock\u2019s iShares Bitcoin Trust, and does not hold bitcoin directly, the adviser said. Options strikes are set mainly from Hedgeye Risk Management\u2019s proprietary Risk Range signals, with positioning adjustable as often as daily. The fund does not target a defined-outcome period or a stated upside cap.<\/p>\n

John S. McNamara III, chief investment officer of Hedgeye Asset Management, is portfolio manager. Hedgeye founder Keith McCullough framed the product as risk management for an asset that had traded near $78,000 as of August 26, about 38% below its October 2025 high near $126,000, per the release.
