PRNewswire – Credit Suisse’s Asset Management division today announced that it has reached a strategic agreement with HDFC Asset Management Company Ltd. (“HDFC AMC”) of India.
Through the strategic agreement, Credit Suisse will become the exclusive distributor of HDFC AMC’s investment products outside India, and HDFC AMC will be Credit Suisse’s exclusive partner in the long-only asset management space in India. The two Firms will also collaborate on new product offerings for international investors who are interested in investing in India.
This agreement will leverage both Credit Suisse Asset Management’s strengths in global distribution and product structuring, and HDFC AMC’s top-tier investment management expertise and long-term track record of investing in the Indian markets.
HDFC AMC currently manages US$ 19.6 billion in its mutual fund assets*, making it second largest amongst India’s asset managers.

HDFC Asset Management Company Limited (AMC)
HDFC Asset Management Company Ltd (AMC), a joint venture between Housing Development Finance Corporation Limited and Standard Life Investments Limited was incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956, on December 10, 1999, and was approved to act as an Asset Management Company for the HDFC Mutual Fund by SEBI vide its letter dated July 3, 2000. In terms of the Investment Management Agreement, the Trustee has appointed HDFC Asset Management Company Limited to manage the Mutual Fund.
The AMC is currently managing 28 open-ended schemes and 7 closed ended schemes of HDFC Mutual Fund. The AMC is also providing portfolio management / advisory services under its registration from SEBI to act as a Portfolio Manager under the SEBI (Portfolio Managers) Regulations, 1993. Investment products managed by HDFC AMC and other investment advisory services provided by HDFC AMC are currently not available in the United States.
