New York (HedgeCo.Net) – Carne Group has recruited Paul Harris, formerly a Director with Brevan Howard, to join Carne’s Channel Islands office.
Paul’s appointment complements Carne’s existing governance capabilities in the Channel Islands, covering private equity, real estate, infrastructure and hedge funds.
Paul was previously Head of Administration at Brevan Howard in Jersey, a varied role which included sitting on and chairing the boards of companies within the Brevan Howard group. Paul is a highly experienced fund director, having held senior operational and administrative roles, providing governance and oversight for leading brands in the European alternative investment arena. He is very familiar with the governance and reporting requirements for funds in the Channel Islands and further afield, and with the operational demands faced by larger alternative fund groups.
Mark Hodgson, Managing Director of Carne in the Channel Islands, commented: “As demand for our governance and AIFM solutions in the Channel Islands grows, we are very excited to be able to welcome a director of Paul’s calibre to Carne. Paul brings with him in-depth experience of managing administration and oversight for some of the most respected names in alternative investment. His experience within one of the world’s largest alternative managers will be of immense value to our clients as we continue to provide Carne’s recognised brand of first class governance services.”
Carne opened an office in the Channel Islands in 2014 to provide governance and distribution support for alternative fund managers wishing to make use of the domiciles of Jersey and Guernsey. This has included the launch of an AIFMD-compliant management company, authorised by the Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC) in October 2014, which is already being used to support fund distribution into the UK.
