Fund Strategy – The Ucits III structure is increasingly being used by the hedge fund industry to bring their funds to a wider retail investor-base. Those in favour of a broader audience for hedge funds suggest that they have a diversification, risk management and performance enhancement benefit for investors.
Yet there are those who argue that they are inappropriate for retail investors, who cannot hope to understand the underlying strategies, where the complexity makes mis-selling a risk.
