100 Women in Hedge Funds, a non-profit organization for professionals in the alternative investments industry, today announced that it will partner with the Child Bereavement Charity during the second year of Prince William’s patronage of 100 Women in Hedge Funds. The Child Bereavement Charity is a leading charity in the UK that supports families and educates professionals in the event of the loss of a child or when a child is bereaved.
100 Women in Hedge Funds has a track record of supporting charities and has raised more than $20 million for philanthropic causes in the areas of health, education and mentoring. Prince William became patron of 100 Women in Hedge Funds’ philanthropic initiatives in late 2009 and, starting in January 2010, 100 Women in Hedge Funds committed to focusing its philanthropic endeavours on three of Prince William’s Patronages: Centrepoint in 2010; the Child Bereavement Charity in 2011; and Skill Force in 2012.
Ann Chalmers, Chief Executive, Child Bereavement Charity, said: “Our vision is that during a time of tragedy in their lives, all grieving children, young people and families have access to quality support and resources relevant to their needs from appropriately trained professionals. I have no doubt that our partnership with 100 Women in Hedge Funds will help us achieve and maintain this vision, and we are indebted to them for their valued support.”
Commenting on the announcement, Kristen Eshak, Philanthropy Chair and Member of the London Board of 100 Women in Hedge Funds, said: “We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Prince William and proud to support the Child Bereavement Charity in their critical mission to support bereaved children and families. This is an issue which touches so many people, and we are thankful that the Child Bereavement Charity can provide the type of support and resources desperately needed at such times.”
100 Women in Hedge Funds is planning a number of events in London during 2011, which marks the organization’s 10th anniversary, and will culminate in the 100 Women in Hedge Funds London Gala on October 13, 2011 at a central London location (to be advised).
