Barron’s – Hedgie Steven Cohen’s SAC Capital Advisors has disclosed in SEC filings that it has opened a new position in options on the SPDR Gold Trust (GLD).
The investment means one of the industry’s biggies has made a bet valued at about $628 million on the yellow metal in the June quarter. It represents the single largest value of equity positions disclosed by SAC Capital, notes the WSJ’s Deal Journal blog.
