BUMP Network is proud to announce that Gregg Parise has joined the company as its new President and CFO. In his dual roles, Parise will continue to build value in the company and manage its team and operations.
Parise will report directly to Mitch Thrower, the CEO and Chairman of BUMP Network. Thrower describes Parise as, “A financial expert whose keen sense of leadership and dedication to detail make him the ultimate player in today’s fast-paced business climate. He is perfectly suited for his role as President and CFO and we are fortunate to have him on board.”
After an extensive executive search, Thrower selected Parise for this coveted position due to his tremendous success in the financial sector and stellar reputation within the financial community.
Parise has 20 years of portfolio management and financial market experience. He has spent the last 12 years as the founder and portfolio manager of various Long/Short equity Hedge Funds, including, LINC Asset Management, Calimar Capital and Dorado Capital Management.
Parise began his career at the 1992 at Hambrecht & Quist in San Francisco at the age of 23 and was quickly recognized as one of the rising stars in the finance world.
Parise was hired away from Hambrecht & Quist as the Senior Vice President and co-manager of the equity trading department at Raymond James in St. Petersburg, FL. While there, he oversaw and managed hundreds of millions of dollars in capital investments. He was also added to the firm’s five-member stock selection committee, the nation’s most recognized. In 1999, Parise was poised to do what he had envisioned for years, launch his own hedge fund. He did so, while generating significant attention in the finance world, by building Dorado Capital Management from $5M to $200M in only two years. Parise then rolled Dorado Capital Management into JLF Asset Management, where he was a partner and co-manager of a $400M hedge fund portfolio.
Parise muses that, “After investing for 20 years of my life as a passive outside investor, this may be my ultimate investment…the decision to go internal as an active entrepreneur.” He continues, “My investment career focused predominantly on public growth equities. Working with an entrepreneurial venture like BUMP Network is quite different. It is exciting in that each day presents endless variables.”
Parise has been featured on the cover of Investor’s Business Daily, CBS MarketWatch, The Wall Street Journal, The Wall Street Transcript and Barron’s. He is a highly sought after presenter and has spoken at Tony Robbins financial conferences alongside T Boone Pickens, Mark Faber, and Kyle Bass. Parise believes in giving back to the business and academic communities. He sits on the board of directors and currently serves as executive vice president of The PEERS Network as well as serving on the board of theUSC Marshall School of Business Alumni Association where he earned his MBA.
Parise is an avid pilot with multi-level licenses. He is also a sailboat captain where his competitive nature has earned him victories in the National Offshore One Design (NOOD), the Ahmenson Cup and numerous regional races sponsored by the San Diego Yacht Club where Parise is a member. He lives with his wife of 17 years, Jessica, in Rancho Santa Fe, California along with their children Isabella (13) and Nicholas (10). He coaches Nicholas in lacrosse and football while still finding time to golf, cycle and play guitar.
