In the case of Steven A. Cohen, the billionaire investor looked to his initials — SAC — as the name for his highly successful and now infamous hedge fund. Others like Daniel Loeb, another billionaire trader, turned to his passion for surfing for inspiration, naming his Third Point fund after a famed spot off Malibu Beach in California where the waves are said to break the biggest.
