Forbes – Two of the most prominent and closely watched hedge fund managers are now among the richest 400 Americans. Larry Robbins and William Ackman have been billionaires for a while and important players in financial markets for years, but some impressive performance figures in recent months has propelled both of them onto the Forbes 400 list for the first time.
Robbins, 44, founder of Glenview Capital Management, has been one of the hottest hedge fund managers in the last three years. Robbins led his flagship hedge fund to a 9.6% net return in the first six months of 2014, beating the Standard & Poor’s 500 index and most other hedge fund managers.
