Washington Post – Berkshire Hathaway has hired a relatively unknown hedge fund manager to manage a “significant portion” of the investment portfolio built by its founder, legendary investor Warren E. Buffett.
The company said in a statement Monday that it has named Todd Combs, 39, as an investment manager. For three years, Buffett and Vice Chairman Charles Munger “have been looking for someone of Todd’s caliber to handle a significant portion of Berkshire’s investment portfolio,” Buffett said in the statement. “We are delighted that Todd will be joining us.”
