Dow Jones – European Central Bank Executive Board member Gertrude Tumpel-Gugerell Monday urged European Union politicians and lawmakers to speed up new hedge fund regulation.
“The crisis has demonstrated the kind of effect hedge funds can have on financial markets and financial services companies,” Tumpel-Gugerell said at an event in Duesseldorf. “I would very much welcome a positive decision.”
