Budget Talks: Obama Adviser to Meet With Hedge Fund Managers

New York (Hedge Co.Net)  – The White House is reaching out to hedge fund managers in an effort to resolve the budget dispute, Bloomberg reports.

According to an administration official, senior Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett is meeting with executives including Daniel Och, of hedge fund Och-Ziff Capital Management;  Stefan M. Selig, of Bank of America/Merrill Lynch; Jonathan D. Gray, of Blackstone Group Management; and Jes Staley, chairman of JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s corporate and investment bank.

President Obama is working on getting a concession on taxes and spending cuts from congressional Republicans and House Speaker John Boehner before January 1st, 2013. The fiscal cliff countdown clock tells us there is just 18 days left for Democrats and Republicans to come to some sort of deal.
