Upgrade Capital, a hedge fund talent scout, recently hosted a discussion between students and Guy Spier from Aquamarine Capital. In the call, the students pitched SouFun Holdings and Penn West Petroleum. Along with providing feedback on the pitches, Spier went on to provide advice on breaking into the hedge fund industry. In addition to being a hedge fund manager, Spier is also the author of a book called The Education Of A Value Investor.
