The German parliament’s upper house gave final approval Friday to a bill that will allow hedge funds to be sold in the country for the first time starting Jan. 1, part of an effort to boost the German investment fund industry. Under the law, which the opposition- controlled chamber approved without debate, hedge funds will be allowed to sell shares to institutional and private investors.
